Room was comfortable, breakfast was good. The day manager was versatile in English and helpful with her advice.
Would have liked a better map to the hotel to find it more easily on our own. Secondary staff struggled wtih English and we struggled with Italian, I think if it were our last stop in our trip, we would have been more effecdtive at communicating with them, adn getting our questions answered.

Hotel Mercurio has a perfect location and very close to all sites in Venice. The hotel rooms are wonderful and have everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Personnel is very polite and ready to help you anytime. I highly recommend this hotel for all people visiting Venice. If I go back to Venice, I will only stay at this hotel.

Near St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge (5 minutes walk), friendly staff (speak French), a delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, clean and pleasant Note: You need to get off at station S. Zaccaria and walk towards the St Mark's Square (Take advantage of the map on page Booked.net)

The view from the canal side rooms is spectacular and very much worth any upgrade charge. The hotel staff is friendly and always on duty - breakfast was a good value as well. We chose this hotel based on a Rick Steve's travel guide for budget travelers and we weren't disappointed. This hotel is easy to find from the Vallaresso ferry stop (at San Marco Square) using the hotel's directions provided on their site and is not a terribly long walk (unless you are lugging heavy bags, that is... We had small bags). This hotel is right in the middle of the San Marco district and a quick walk to the square and to the Rialto bridge as well. This stay was a standout on our trip across Italy.
This is not a complaint ... the bathroom fixtures are older and there are mildew stains on upper tiles of the shower. We'd seen complaints/comments from other travelers about this, but it is not something that we let bother us. The bathroom is quite functional and otherwise clean - lots of water pressure, plenty of hot water, etc. We are clean freaks, we would not normally accept this from other hotels, but the benefits of this hotel far outweigh this small negative.

It was a comfortable space, The desk staff were helpful, and happy for a bit of chat! The location was excellent! The included breakfast was pleasant too.
I recall that the bed was a bit squeaky! [probably fixable]

We stayed at Mercurio for 3 nights in the end of September 2010, in suite 53. I have to admit that the view from the balcony is amazing. It's like having a private canal, with gondolas passing by all day long. San Marco square is 2 blocks away and the Rialto is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The suite itself was big but basic. Two rooms with a bed, a sofa, a table and two chairs. A dressing table with a big mirror is desperately needed in a suite like this. Other things missing are a trash can, a coat hanger and some carpeting around the bed. The bathroom was small but adequate, with only a shower. No problems with mold or the water pressure. Again, a shelf underneath the mirror would be nice. A small annoyance is the two TV set
The room is too plain. It needs some period decoration.

A well priced hotel in Venice with extremely helpful staff during check-out. Unbeatable, magnificent location close to St Mark's Square. Besides, excellent for visiting a grand showpiece square.

We had a lovely two-night stay where we really enjoyed the spacious breakfast room and the charming decor. Relaxation opportunities like the cozy lounge and the outdoor seating area. The only minor hiccup was that the entrance felt a bit hidden, but it didn't overshadow our overall experience 😊
